no need to pay for a taxi, busses run regularly. It is about 30 to 35 minutes

Henry i would take the ferry or the bus,i am in Capri at the moment and i did that journey last week.

Both are cheap ways to travel, whatever you do avoid hiring a car i made that mistake!!!.The italians are crazy drivers, after driving from Rome to Positano i think my blood presure must have gone off the scale.

If you are staying at the top of Positano i would take the bus because it stops about a thirty minute walk outside the village, there is a smaller bus service that takes you into the middle off the village, but the traffic is always busy into the village so it is quicker to walk.If however you are staying at the bottom of the village then take the ferry.
