Where to stay?

Traveling next May with 4 friends. Looking to stay in Montepulciano probably inside the walls or close as we all like to have some wine at nigh and don't want anyone to drive. Would like a view and AC I'd at all possible. I currently have reservations at Meuble Evoe bur can't figure out if they have AC or not and if that is the "perfect" place. Any input would be great. A terrace would be awesome to, to enjoy the beautiful views and wonderful wine would be icing on the cake. Thanks!

You don't need air con in May.

If you would be interested in a very traditional family-run Italian hotel, have a look at Il Marzocco. It is just inside the walls and has parking available. See www.albergoilmarzocco.it

When we stayed there, this was the view from our room: nickbooth.id.au/Europe09/Images/Monte/view_M…

As Nick says, you definitely won't need A/C in May so don't let that impact your decision.

We recently stayed here in apartment number 3 with private terrace. No aircon but we did not need it in the middle of June. These houses are made to stay cool.

I'm not sure you will not need A/C in May, it depends really from the season.

What makes the main difference in the choice of the accomodation is the budget. Meublé Evoè is one of the most interesting accomodations in terms of rate quality/price, and they have a convenient location on the main street of the town. You can ask them whether they have A/C. On the other side, they do not have a view or a terrace.

All the hotels in the city walls have parking for their guests, not all the properties have a view.

To have a really unbiased opinion, I would suggest you to contact one of the local tourism board ( Strada Vino Nobile di Montepulciano info@stradavinonobile.it or Proloco Montepulciano), they will be glad to assist you, without any cost for you, in finding the perfect accomodation for your group on the base of your budget and your exigences.

Thanks for the input, we want to stay in the city so that we can have some drinks and dinner and no one worry about driving afterwards so we have decided to stay at Il Marzocco, rates look great, balcony looks fantastic and we got room 26 as one of the rooms think the other one is 25. Now to make a decsion on vineyards and dinner, oh what problems to have! So excited about this trip, wish it was sooner.
