Train from Milano - HELP Please

Does anyone know how I would purchase a train ticket from Milano to Montecatini Terme? I've tried on the Trentitalia website but I get this message "The travel solution has at least a segment not purchasable ".

The sector from Florence to Montecatini Terme is on a local (Regionale) train. Tickets for Regionale trains cannot be bought online more than 7 days in advance.

Use the web site to book your travel from Milan to Florence, and buy the Regionale ticket in Italy. Regionale trains have no seat reservations, so tickets cannot sell out, and a ticket bought in Italy can be used on any Regionale train on the purchased route. Before you get on the train, you must time-stamp a Regionale ticket in a machine at the station.

If you take a Frecciarossa AV train from Milano Centrale, connect at Firenze SMN to an unreserved regionale train to Montecatini.

If you take a less expensive Intercity train from Milano Centrale, connect at PRATO CENTRALE to an unreserved regionale train to Montecatini. On the Intercity, you don't need to go all the way to Firenze SMN, as the train stops first at Prato Centrale. You'll save both time and money by connecting at Prato Centrale.

There is also frequent intercity bus service from Florence to Montecatini Terme, as an alternative to the regionale train.

Thank you so much sydneynick and GAC for the information. We are trying to avoid going all the way to Florence because we will be going there after Montecatini anyways. The option with the connection at PRATO CENTRALE appears to be the best choice. Do you know how often these trains run so we have an idea of timeing?
