Are you asking for suggestions? I stayed at the Hotel Minerva Palace and enjoyed it very much. It's off the main drag, the people are very nice and the hotel is clean. www.hotelminervapalace.it

Sounds like the same trip we are taking in mid Sept. We would like to know if there are any local tour agencys in Montecatini. Also, any suggestions to what we might want to see in that area?

Montecatini is a lovely little town to stay in, and there are also trains running to Florence and Lucca for day-trips. If it's possible, try to visit the old village Massa e Carrera which you can see on the mountain above Montecatini.
