Naples airport direct to Maiori??

Hi I have seen several posts about transfer from airport to Maiori, but am unsure is there any direct bus , train or ferry. We have a very early flight and want hassle free transfer, but the price of private transfer is very high.Travelling end Sept back Oct 1st.

Would like a simple option !!Thanks in advance.

There is No private ferry or bus to Maiori.

You have to reach first Salerno and then Maiori or first Sorrento and then Maiori.

A private transfer is eur 110,00

If you truly want "hassle free transfer" the only way is to take a private transfer. There are no trains to Maiori either.

If you have an early flight out of Naples and stay in Sorrento or the Amalfi coast area, there are only 2 choices: private driver (expensive) or stay the night in Naples (city, no good hotels by the airport) and take a taxi in the morning to the airport.

Thanks , no sorry the flight leaves Ireland very early but I arrive approx 1130 ish in Naples and it is this time I will be looking for the transfer to Maiori.

I am considering taking the bus from outside Naples airport to Salerno , and then another to Maiori as this seems to have been recommended by other posts.Do we get the tickets on the bus or have to buy them in advance.

Just hoping these are easy to find as I have no Italian!!!

Yep, you have it, and the bus will be right outside the departures wing of the airport (the main building, after you exit the arrivals building you walk past an outdoor cafe and it's right there), and you will purchase tickets on board. For the bus from Maiori to Salerno, you will need to purchase in advance. It depends on where you get off in Salerno. If at the train station, there should be a booth. The last stop in Salerno is the SITA bus depo, and there is a ticket booth there. You should be okay, but I strongly recommend learning a few Italian phrases--"due billeti a Maiori per favore" to start.

This is the timetable I used, but there may be others.

Here are the bus schedules you need (Monday through Saturday):

sitasudtrasporti.it/public/…5002.pdf

Note that there is an airport bus from NAP airport at 13:30 from Monday through Saturday. Fare is 7 Euros.

On SUNDAYS, here are the schedules or the airport bus:

http://www.cosat.it/salerno_capodichino.htm

Note that the departure on SUNDAYS from the airport is at 12:15, and you should CONFIRM the service by calling the cellular phone number displayed on the website.

ARRIVING IN SALERNO:

Get off the airport bus at Piazza della Concordia in Salerno. Then walk 300 meters to the train station, where you can board the SITA bus for Maiori. Purchase the ticket from the travel agency inside the foyer of the train station (UNICO COSTIERA 90-min ticket for 3.80 Euros). Schedules:

sitasudtrasporti.it/public/…5120.pdf

You could MISS the connection in Salerno by a few minutes, or you might be able to catch the connection with no time to spare. Impossible to know in advance.

Travel time for each leg of the trip is about 60 minutes. Total travel time two hours (plus connection time in Salerno).

If you will be spending several days in Maiori, you might benefit from purchasing the UNICO COSTIERA 3-day ticket for 18 Euros. This should also be sold in the travel agency in the foyer of the Salerno train station, and could be purchased in lieu of the 90-minute single use ticket, which costs 3.80 Euros. The 3-day ticket is valid for UNLIMITED rides on the SITA buses along the Amalfi Coast (from Salerno to Sorrento, including Ravello). It's a very good deal if you plan to use the SITA buses to get around. The 3-day ticket is validated once only, upon boarding the first bus, and expires at 23:59 of the third day (e.g. valid Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday).

Note for others who may need to travel from the Naples Airport to Maiori (or Vietri sul Mare, Cetara, Minori, Atrani or Amalfi):

In case you just miss the airport bus to Salerno, and don't want to wait for the next departure (or if the airport bus schedules simply don't work for you), this is your alternative:

1. Alibus Airport bus from NAP Airport to Napoli Piazza Garibaldi (central train station): 3 Euros and 20 mins.

2. Trenitalia unreserved regionale or metropolitano train to Salerno (4.10 Euros and 40-60 minutes). Don't take the reserved fast trains, which are much more expensive.

3. SITA bus to Maiori, departing from directly outside the Salerno train station (3.80 Euros and 55 minutes).

If possible, it's best to take the airport bus from NAP Airport direct to Salerno, then connect to the SITA bus to the Amalfi Coast, as set forth in my Posting 6 above. However, the airport bus schedules between NAP and Salerno are quite limited. This bus costs 7 Euros.

After arriving in Salerno, if your destination is Vietri sul Mare or Cetara, you only need a 45-minute UNICO COSTIERA ticket for the SITA bus, which costs 2.50 Euros. If your destination is Maiori, Minori, Atrani or Amalfi, you need the 90-minute ticket, which costs 3.80 Euros.

There is also a 24-hr UNICO COSTIERA. ticket for 7.60 Euros which is a really good deal if you plan to use the SITA buses along the Amalfi Coast later in the day, or for part of the following day. Finally, there is also a 3-day UNICO COSTIERA ticket for 18 Euros, mentioned in posting 6 above. The 3-day ticket is valid until 23:59 of the third day after first usage (e.g. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday). The 24-hour ticket is valid for 24 hours after first usage.

Luggage can be placed in the underfloor compartment of the bus.

Since your flight is leaving so late, you will have to check out of your hotel by 11 am, so you might as well start you journey to Naples then. You can leave you luggage in the Naples train station left luggage and take in some Naples sights while you are there. Since you are only flying to the UK, You ill only need tyo leave naples 2-3 hours ahead of your flight. You can take a Taxi fron the Naples train station when you pick up your luggage. YOu could take the Alibus (3 euro) from the train station to the airport. It is supposed to run every 30 min, but it seemed like that is only a recommendation rather than a fast rule.
