How far is it from the airport to the port??? These charhges seem excessive unless you were in a limousine rather than a cab.

Your information has been invaluable. There are 6 of us arriving into the train station at Civitavecchia (from the Cinque Terre, which does not go via rome, as the rail line runs down the coast). We then need to get to the cruise terminal to board our Carnival cruise.

It has been near impossible to establish the location of the train station in relation to the port cruise terminal, or if there are likely to be any taxis at the station, as it appears most people come from the airport or Rome city, and the station at Civitavecchia apparently does not cater for cruise passengers arriving here. I have sent away an enquriry to touring-car.it - as per your advised website, so hope they will be able to help us. Any further info on Civitavecchia (as we have 2 nights in port at the end of the cruise, and most of us are going on to Rome when we disembark, so wondered about just having the last day in the Civitavecchia area, if there was anything to see and do. Look forward to your comment. Thanks, Bernz

Thank you for that Bob - I shall contact Italycab and see if they can book a transfer for us from the train station to the dock. At present we are experiencing problems even getting a reservation on the train, but hopefully that will also be resolved.
