Best way to get to Rimini from Venice?

Hi everyone,

After much ado, I've decided that Rimini, Italy would be the best place to go in mid-June after disembarking from a cruise that ends in Venice. Now I need to find the best way to get there, I'm guessing a train, but which one?

Also need to find a nice, secluded beach hotel in Rimini for a romantic get away...any suggestions? Thank you for any and all information, I really appreciate it :-)

A secluded Rimini beach Hotels is a bit of an oxymoron

Rimini has always been a favourite of the Italian young party crowd for years.

It is part of the most over-commercialised beach area on the east coast. Rimini "addresses" cover 12km of coastline from the south end of the Airport to Torre Pedrera in the North.

The whole of the sea front area here is filled with Hotels and the beach littered with "Bagni" (beach emplacements) all the way down to Riccione and beyond with little respite down to Cattolica

I have stayed at the Hotel Londres in Rimini (nice hotel but on the main road strip) but personally prefer Riccione. The area around Viale Maria Ceccarini is mostly pedestrianised with various choices of bars, Restaurants and shopping.

If you wanted something a bit different I would suggest Lazise on Lake Garda and perhaps the lakeside hotel Corte Valier

The Hotel is a short walk from the main village which is mostly pedestrianised and with plenty of restaurants to choose from - some on the lake front

Simple to get to. Numerous trains go from Venice to Peschiera del Garda

Then you can take the local bus or a ~ €15 taxi ride

I really appreciate this info - I definitely do not want to be in the middle of the 20-something party!
