Public transport round and about Bormio

Understand that there is bus transport connecting towns villiages/ski area around Bormio. Have heard that the busses are crowded with school children and make so many stops that it is difficult to use to connect ski areas. Also does anyone know if the buses have ski racks to facilitate ski gear transport. Would like to stay Bormio but travel to other ski areas nearby without needing a hire car.

Also understand that there is frequent bus transport to Tirano to link with train to Milano for day away from slopes.

Anyone have information on tranport situation?

Have just returned from Bormio for the second time, we used the local bus to go to Santa Caterina, Le Motte and livigno and did not find the buses crowded or stopping to frequently, perhaps we caught them at the right time. If you do go the little ski area of Le Motte is worth a day good slopes with a lot less people than Bormio but we were disappointed with Santa Caterina, still you can't please everybody.

Thanks Trimtabs,

I thought getting from ski area to ski area would be possible using da bus.

Do you know if the bus has storage for skis & snow boards or do you have to carry all kit and stuff on board?
