Haven't stayed there but have eaten in restaurant, sure it will be fine. In a good location on the Viale della Vittoria which means you can access the slopes at Campo Smith and Jafferau easily, the free ski bus stops just nearby. You are also in a good position to access the town centre bars/restaurants in the evening and if you're self-catering you have a range of food stores within easy walking distance. Our favourite evening haunts are L'Alimentari, further along Viale della Vittoria towards Campo Smith, and Al Crotin, in Via Medail the main street. Both are wine bars serving local wines by the glass with food included. Enjoy!

Just got back from Bardonecchia Gran baita apps. We paid literally nothing so went expecting the worst, However.

Not bad 10 min walk or 2 mins bus from main lift.10 mins walk or bus from shops etc. Clean enough, old fashioned but recently done if that makes any sense. I think we had one of the larger rooms (2 of us) for 4, plenty of room more storage than you know what to do with. Safe box in room, your own ski locker down stairs. Towels provided but not changed, we took spares so no prob. You don't have to clean the room at the end like in France. Wasn't asked for deposit as stated in brochure. Flat screen if you like MTV. Very warm, climate control pannel on wall, plenty of drying room. You own emersion heater so no race to get a shower before water runs out. Only one bad point really. NOISE! Paper thin walls + Italians not good. To be fair in the week it did go quiet by about 11 apart from the odd Engish group coming back drunk at 3 or whatever. So if you go out its not a problem but on friday and saturday things get buisy and noisy till about 1 or 2 Which is a problem if you need to be up at 6 to get a flight home (accidentaly left tv on as we went, oops). We tried compaining to reception but got a mock shocked look then told "Those people have gone". Which we knew was rubbish. Basicly there is no 24 hour reception so anything goes and it literaly sounds like about 100 voices all gabbering away at once, music chairs scraping etc You may as well be in a frat house at the weekend. The only answer is to go out if you have any money left by then or watch TV till late.

On balance for what we paid we were more than happy really. Compared to some self catering appartments they were quite good, noise apart. Hope this helps.

I was looking at staying here or Hotel Ca Foire which I believe is a little out of town. What are the skiing conditions like? Looking to go in next few days!

Thanks

Stayed there in February, on a positive note the restaurant underneath is great, good food and the cheapest prices we found in Bardonecchia.

The appartments themselves were disappointing. Whilst we didn't pay a lot for the trip they were very basic, no toaster or kettle which the rep told us was pretty standard in Italy. Generally the rooms were clean but both the bedding covers and the sofa cover were a bit grubby, in comparison we had loads of clean white towels and received replacements midweek. Our appartment was supposedly for 3 people but it would have been a bit of a squeeze. The bathroom was very small with the tiniest shower in the world, only a child would have been able to move around in it, you literally could not move in it when the curtain was closed!

Again on a positive note the heating was good and plenty of hot water. Our heating stopped working whilst we were there but was fixed very quickly once we informed reception.
