There's direct bus service from airport to Agrigento, but not on sundays.

You could get to Palermo centre by airport bus, and then take the Cuffaro bus to Agrigento (or the train).

There's no direct service on Sundays or holidays, only Mondays through Saturdays.

We arrive at Palermo airport at 16.20 on a Thursday in August. Is there a bus later than this to Agrigento, or should we hire car from airport instead. Thanks Jill Stephenson.

There's a bus from the airport at 19.45, but this would be a quite long wait.

You could take the airport bus to Palermo stazione centrale, and then the 18,30 last Cuffaro bus to Agrigento. the bus stop is in via Paolo Balsamo, 1 block away from the station.

Take the Prestia e Comandè bus from Palermo's airport to Palermo, and then take the Cuffaro bus as biondo suggested, or take the train at 17.49 from Palermo to Agrigento Centrale. The next train departs Palermo at 18.47.

Thanks for your advice but perhaps picking up car at airport is easier than waiting or driving north to go south. We have booked a car in Agrigento next morning, to possibly best just to pick up at airport afternoon before. Thanks anyway helping me make decision. Jill Stephenson

Prego Jill S,

With an arrival at 16.20, you could easily hire a car at the airport and drive to Agrigento.

But perhaps drive the A29 to the SS115 to Agrigento – Take this route to avoid driving Palermo’s ring road. It would be a pleasant and easy drive.

Prego Jill S,

Palermo airport's exit ramps lead directly to the A29, and you wouldn't want to deal with driving Palermo's dreaded ring road after a flight.
