Welcome to Sicily MABNyc!

Are you departing in 5 days or you will only have 5 days?

What time will you arrive and depart in Palermo?

It can be done on public transport, but you would probably appreciate hiring a car – No need for a driver/guide.

Ciao MABNyc,

Ciuci’s Manor IS great – We will make it work!!

Before we can work on the route, what TIME do you arrive and depart – That’s really important to know.

An early arrival would allow some time to travel a distance from the airport. A late arrival would require spending your first night near the airport. A late departure would permit spending your last night a distance from the airport, but an early departure would require an accommodation near the airport.

You will appreciate the flexibility of hiring a car with only 5 nights!

Ciao MABNyc,

With such an early arrival, hire the car at the airport in Palermo and drive to Ciuci’s Manor in Aragona (2 hours).

Visit Agrigento’s Valley of the Temples after check-in, and enjoy dinner at Ciuci’s Manor.

Check all driving routes and estimated driving times and distances on ViaMichelin.

www.google.com/search…

From Aragona, drive to Siracusa – Follow ViaMichelin’s recommended route via autostrada, 2,5 hours.

Since you didn’t mention a visit to Mount Etna, spend 2 nights in Siracusa, and then drive to Taormina for 1 night.

If you’d like to visit Mount Etna, you could visit Mount Etna on your way from Siracua to Taormina, or you could spend 1 night in Siracusa and 2 nights in Taormina.

Leave Taormina early in the day and spend your last night in Piazza Armerina.

The Villa Romana del Casale is undergoing restorations and the schedule changes frequently, so check this thread for monthly updates.

tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g187886-i343-k2170…

If the Villa Romana del Casale is open for viewing in the afternoon, explore the town in the morning, enjoy lunch, and then visit the Villa Romana del Casale in the afternoon. If the schedule switches, then visit the Villa Romana del Casale in the morning, enjoy lunch, and explore the town in the afternoon.

Enjoy breakfast and a last look at your ancestral town the following morning and drive the 2,5 hours to the airport in Palermo for your departing flight.

You might also begin in Piazza Armerina – Drive the 2,5 hours from the airport to Piazza Armerina and visit the Villa Romana del Casale on arrival, assuming the current schedule holds with afternoon hours. Then see the town the following morning and drive on to Siracusa, then Taormina, and end in Agrigento.

Do you have your tickets? - Open-jaws, arrive Palermo and depart Catania would better serve you without backtracking to Palermo.

It's a whirlwind.....

Best Wishes!

Hope to hear what you decide MABNyc - You could tweak the number of days if you'd like to spend more time in Piazza Armerina.

Best Wishes!
