Agrigento temple scaffolds?

I read that all the major temples in Agrigento are covered in scaffolding for repairs. is this still true? I am going in July, but might skip the area if the temples are effaced that way.

Go see the temples, and enjoy! They are not under any scaffolding, or construction. Of course, in Italy restoration is frequently underway, but after checking with both the Tourist Information Office in Agrigento (0922-20391), and the ticket booths at the entrance to Valle dei Templi (0922-26191), was told that the temples are all "in place"!

We were just there in March and the Temple of Concordia is under scafolding. It's about 75% covered but you can see some of its glory. I don't remember if the Temples of Hera Lacinia was scafolded, if it was it was not as heavy as Concordia, but the Temple of Hercules and The Temple of Castor and Pollux or Dioscuri were not scafolded at all. We were glad we visited this site eventhough it was not one of our favorites (Segesta and Selinunte were).

Took a quick look at my pictures and the only temple under scafolding is Temple of Concordia. So one out of four isn't bad, right?

Concordia was under scaffolding for two years. Last month, the scaffolding was removed.

Selinute is often overlooked by travelers, and it too is spectacular, especially in spring when wild flowers bloom, and you can hear the sea crashing below!

Aww, we missed it by two months! It is a beautiful temple and it would have been great to see it unscaffolded. Next time!!

BTW, the Theatre at Selinunte was scaffolded when we visited. Maybe it too is now uncovered and even more splendid.
