Bodmin history

I don't know if anyone will be able to help, but I am visiting Bodmin next month to try and trace my father's footsteps. His parents (and himself as a boy) lived in a house called 'St Nicolas Gate' but I have no address for it. The family name was Webster and I know my grandfather was a teacher in the area. I think they moved away about 30/35 years ago.

If anyone could tell me the whereabouts of 'St Nicholas Gate', or any information about the Websters I would be delighted!

No idea about St Nicholas Gate, but there is a St Nicholas Street with lots of large houses on it, wonder if it could be one of those? A lot of the houses are now split for multiple occupation, although there are some which are still private homes, as well as B&Bs and nursing homes.

This website gives details of the town museum who may be able to help you, or at least point you in the right direction.
