weymouth with a toddler and rainy days!

Hi there,

we are off to Weymouth a week today for 5 nights at Haven Weymouth Bay - i just wondered if anyone could give some good ideas to fill our days if the weather is rainy with our 2.5yr old? The site has an indoor pool which we will use every day i am sure, and if the weather is dry - even if its cold - we will do lots of beaches and walking etc... planning on visiting Monkey World too no matter the weather. What else would you reccomend?

Thanks in advance!

There are a couple of indoor play places, one in the town centre and one more out of town

http://www.sharkysweymouth.com/ is right on the harbour front so you could combine with a trip into town if need be i.e. get some food somewhere aswell, or if it's only showers you could get round the harbour and beach. The SeaLife centre and tower are obviously indoors but you may be be able to get discount vouchers/tesco rewards as out of season a bit. There is a also a cinema in the town centre that may have a kids club showing for cheap during the week.

Was looking for other activities other than play indoor centres, more tourist attractions as such???

Difficult to find indoor attractions with little ones other than play centres as most tourist attractions are outside. Haven should have their Kids club up and running, with plenty of activities for littleuns to enjoy. Sea Life has indoor and outdoor areas, and Sandworld next door is indoors, sand models to see, and a chance to make your own. The Palm House -Situated in the Melcombe Car Park in a very large greenhouse, is a café with a play area and for slightly older kiddies, (and young at heart) a chance to paint your own china animal or mug. There is also a bowling alley in town, Dorchester has both a teddy bear and dinosaur museum, both fairly small, but geared up for kids which may also be worth visiting with little ones. Hope this helps a bit, but I'm sure the weather will be good this year, so you hopefully wont need to worry. These attractions are still worth visiting though whatever the weather.
