What's a chunnel?

The best way from Heathrow to Paris is to fly. Through check your bags to Paris from wherever you start, and just go through Flight Connections to the ongoing gate.

If you want, for novelty's sake (because there is absolutely no other reason to), to get the train, then - after immigration and baggage collection, get the Piccadilly line tube (an hour) to St Pancras, arriving at least by whatever advance checkin time yolur ticket tells you.

Go to the Eurostar website for tickets. Advance booking is essential in practice: do it right and it's £59 return. Buy on the day and it's several times that

Is there a reason why you would want to go to Paris via Ashford? You would be adding another journey as you would have to change trains so many times. If you really want to go via Eurostar then it would be easier to take it from St Pancras.

If you are at Heathrow then the sensible option is to fly from Heathrow to Paris then catch a train into Paris.

If you take the Eurostar then you'll need a minimum of 3h30m from landing to catching the train, then it's another 2h30m before you reach Paris. Then there's the hassles of collecting luggage and carting it through London to St Pancras. And what if you miss the train - you'll be several hundred miles from Paris with no option but to buy a new ticket which will be full price

If you fly then you have the chance of being able to check your luggage all the way through from your start point which means you'll miss having to go through UK immigration. Even if you have to collect luggage then it's an easier & quicker transfer to your new flight.
