Activities for toddlers

We are staying near Wellington for a week, with 18 month old twins. Any suggestions of places to go. They love birds and animals.

Very little of that sort in the area as it is a large county town and become very built up.

Have a look at this list tho I'm not impressed by it dayoutwiththekids.co.uk/things-to-do/taunton

It would take a bit of a drive to find animal places and the time of year might make some in the country a bit chilly and damp.

The nearest is Tropiquaria with a lot to see and some indoor activities. It is a short hop to the village of Watchet with boats in the harbour. http://www.tropiquaria.co.uk/

The Wildlife and Dinosaur park is great but over an hours drive http://www.wildlifedinosaurpark.co.uk/

The Exmoor Zoo is about an hour away too www.exmoorzoo.co.uk

and of cours Longleat www.longleat.co.uk which is a great day out but a bit further away.

It is half an hour by train to Bristol where there is a bus to Bristol Zoo

If the weather is bad you could always take them indoors to "Crafty Rascals" in Wellington Sports Centre on a Thursday morning between 0930 and 1100. Bouncy castle, slides and lots of toys for them to play on/with.
