North to Stavanger - most interesting and not crowded sites

Hi!

Which are the most beautiful fjords between Stavanger and Geirangerfjord?

1. Could you recommend a place which is beautiful but not crowded? It might be within the reach of a few day hike from roads.

2. How do you think, which places are more wild and beautiful: Hardangervidda or Jotunheimen?

3. Can Folgefonna Glacier and its views be compared to those in Jostedalsbreen? Which are the best places for seeing the glacier in those places (in order not to meet too much crowd (also within the reach of a few days' hike)

I will appreciate any advice and suggestions!

Thanks!

Monika

When are you planning on visiting Norway? I think you are putting too much emphasis on the crowds. To be honest the most crowded places are the villages of Flåm and Geiranger when one or more cruise ship is there.

One fjord is not more beautiful than the others. They are all equally beautiful and have more or less the same scenery.

The glaciers are not crowded. You need a guide to hike on the glaciers.

For info on the iconic fjords between Stavanger and Geiranger, please study the official tourist website: www.fjordnorway.com/en

I'm already in Norway - just landed ;)

Thank you for the information. As to crowds, I won't worry any more ;)

What kind of transport do you have ?

The Preikestolen hike near Stavanger is very popular and there may be what you call crowds.

The most famous places like Flåm, Næroyfjord, Geiranger and Geirangerfjord may attact crowds as they are readily accessible and also visited by cruise liners.

The Hardangerfjord (except for the Trolltunga hike) has not been so heavily marketed and there will be less people.

Jotunheimen is more spectacular than Hardangervidda.
