Is there public transport from the port terminal to the city centre. Is there local city bus (circular type) w hich we could ride on to see the city sites. We are only in Kristiansand for one day but would like to see as much as possible. The photos look lovely.

The port terminal is in the city centre. Check webmaps (Google, Bing, mapquest etc) for details.

The city centre of Kristiandsand is easy walkable and there are some nice pedestrian streets. There is no HOHO bus, but there is a city train that operates during the summer months. A good lunch or snack stop would be "Drømmeplassen" (the dream place): tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g190492-d8…

There is a "Bus-metro" in Kristiansand. www.bussmetro.no/eng/forsiden.asp…

Line M1-Sørlandsparken takes you to the outdoor Zoo (Dyreparken). This route passes close to the outdoor museum which displays a street from old Kristiansand (Bygada) and farm buldings from Setesdal. Sometimes in weekends it is a living museum.

Bus nr.19 takes you to Ravnedalen (Raven Valley) a tranquil park established by General Wergeland, father of Norwegian poet Henrik Wergeland and his sister, the writer Camilla Collett. You may have a lunch under the tall trees, in restaurant Generalen, watching the swans in the pond. Return to city-center by foot gives you an example of Norwegian living. On the return you pass the church-yard with the graves of Brittish airmen killed in WW2.

How close is this hotel to any bus that travels from Kristiansand airport? Is it within walking distance from a bus station?

The airport bus stops right in front of Hotel Norge as well as the other hotels in the center of Kristiansand. Time table: …reiseinfo.no/AgderIISSTaticTables/Tables/ru…

I think it is a very nice trip, but only if the weather is nice. So dont decide in beforehand. The trip goes most inside the belt of small islands along the coast. You will see several old fishermans communities and also where the pilots used to live in the times they had to stay at the outmost island to watch the sea to see if anyone needed their help. You pass a lot of piqturesque places.

I dont know anything called the tender dock, but MB Øya leaves from Quay 6, not very far from the bus station.
