Tromso in march 2014

Have booked a 4 day 3 night trip with tromso adventures at 9100NOK.

I've requested for a half day ice fishing too!

Here's the itinerary:

tromsoadventure.no/tour/…

ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Tromsø. Spend the first night at Clarion Hotel Bryggen, a modern design hotel in the centre of Tromsø. Dinner at Clarion Hotel Bryggen.

Enjoy the sauna and the outdoor hot tub on the top floor for free. Great view of Tromsø from the hot tub.

Day 2: Breakfast and lunch at Clarion Hotel Bryggen. Time at your leisure before transfer to Camp Tamok at 5.00pm (pick-up at Rica Ishavshotel, next to Clarion Hotel Bryggen). Reindeer sledding under the Northern Lights sky. Stay overnight either in a wilderness timber cabin or wooden lavvu (Sami tent), depending on availability.

Day 3: Breakfast and snowmobile tour the next morning. Dog sledding in the evening. Transportation back to Tromsø in the evening (arrival in Tromsø is at 11.45pm). Spend the night at Clarion hotel Bryggen in Tromsø.

Day 4: Breakfast at Clarion Hotel Bryggen. Time to explore Tromsø at your leisure, including its various museums and charming city centre.

However, we would have free times during the first day and the second till 5pm.

What else can my family and I do in tromso?

Also, the chances of catching the lights in march is it high?

There is an extensive list of what to do on the official web-site - perhaps consider a NL-tour to increase your chances. If you are out half the night until the small hours of the morning for hunting the lights, you may need some time to catch up on your sleep as well.

March is not better nor worse than any of the other months between the eqinoxes, you need NL-activity, a clear sky and darkness. And a fair bit of luck. And being mobile in case Tromsø conditions are not in your favour.
