I am planing to travel from Rovaniemi to Tromso in late september, probably on 30 sept or 1 oct, searching for northern lights.
People said that the only way is to take a bus from Rovaniemi to Karasjok, stay one night, and then take a bus to Lakselv airport and fly to Tromso. Is that so?
Here is my itin:
Rovaniemi - Karasjok ( BUS: 1125 -1755)
Karasjok - LAKSELV (bus no. 416 1030-1140)
LAKSELV-TROMSO (flight 1230-1315)
May i ask if the bus 416 is still running? Is the timetable right? Do I need to buy tix in advance?
And I have quite a lot of question about Tromso as well.
1. Some said that Tromso is usually cloudy and we have to search for a place to see northern light. How to find a tour guide there? How much does it cost? May we join tour after we arrive or book in advance?
2. Our budget is quite tight, may anyone suggest some budget hostel?
3. Is early October a good timing for northern light?
We understand that seeing northern light is by luck, but since we travel all the way from Hong Kong, we want to maximize our chance.
Any recommendation is appreciated.
Thank you so much!!!!
