Skiing

Hey all

Im looking to know how to get to Lillehammer from Oslo Rygge? Also where is the best area to stay there in order to get the best skiing? I know it's not a big area and we are all intermediate to advanced, but would like to see Norway and just want to make the most of it! Thanks :)

When are you coming and for how long are you staying ? What kind of skiing are you looking for (cross country or downhill) ?

You can have a train or bus to Oslo and change for the train to Lillehammer.

Hafjell and Kvitfjell have the most challenging downhill skiing on slopes used in the 94 Olympics. Skeikampen is the best all round resort for cross-country skiing as well and the best scenery.

If you rent a car and don't mind some driving you could take advantage of the common lift pass and drive to a different resort each day from a base in Lillehammer or Hafjell. It's about 3 hours drive from Rygge to Lillehammer.

Downhill skiing not cross-country - could hire a car if necessary, but want to keep costs down and ski quality up ! thanks all for the advice so far !
