Jotunheimen national park

Hello! I'm going to Norway this weekend and I'm going to Jotunheimen national park. I'll be by myself so I was wondering if there was anything I could join when I get there? Like a walking group or a kayaking group etc. I'm slightly worried about hitting it alone.. Please help :-)

Note that "this weekend" is mid winter. There is 100 cm snow or more up there, temp -5 to -10 C.

WT must have missed the fact that you are coming this week-end. It is definitely not the season for hiking or kayaking, but some hotels may offer guided cross-country skiing trips.

Jotunheimen is a rather big area, where exactly are you going? Possible activities will depend on where you stay.

I was thinking of staying close to the ground. Not going up the mountains. It said the weather was about 4 degrees... If that's right :-/

Jotunheimen is only mountains and highlands. The name refers to "giant mountains".

Jotunheimen is a mountainous area. If you are referring to the bus from Otta across Sognefjellet, it only runs in the summer months when the Sognefjellet mountain pass is open.

To be honest I think you should forget about the national park itself at this time of year.

Skiing is the only way getting off the road.

Eastern Jotunheimen is great for back country skiing, particularly late winter and spring.

Around ski resorts there is access to groomed tracks (cross-country)

Within Oslo you can also do cross country (although little snow this year)
