Train from Vienna to Prague

We need to get a train from Vienna to Prague on July 6th. How do I do this? Some people said DON'T buy online. Can we be sure if we arrive at the train station in the morning we will be able to get a train? We would like to leave before 10 am. What are the names of the rail lines? Some people said Raileurope is too expensive. Are there more than one train line?

Thanks.

Firstly, the trains don't sell out, secondly Raileurope does not run any trains..they are an expensive reseller...best to avoid.

If you buy on line from Austrian railways (as soon as possible) the tickets are cheaper than on the day....(most of the time)

You could also consider going by bus which is surprisingly comfortable and cheaper.

Where did you see don't buy online? It costs from €29 in advance or about €65 if you buy at the station.

The cheapest and plushest way is by bus, as mentioned above, www.studentagency.eu - only €18. However it is extremely popular and tickets can be sold out if you leave it until the last minute. There is also www.westbus.at/en which is the quickest option and costs €22

For train tickets Rail Europe and the vast majority of other third-party agencies should be avoided like the plague.
