Heat wave itinerary ;-)

Well, I've a strange question..

It seems that our 3 days in Vienna (next Thur-Sat) will fall in the midst of another heat wave. Thankfully, our hotel has aircon..

But the question is - are the museums and the palaces (the Schatzkammer, the Belvedere, Schonbrunn palace, Kunsthistorisches Museum, House of Music and so on) air-conditioned? Where should we go while it's hot and what places are inadvisable? We're a family with two boys (16 and 12) that comes to Europe in August to escape the heat in Israel :-)

The Mall at Wien Mitte / Landstrasse is spacious and has AC as well.

We were at the imperial Apartments at the Hofburg last week and if it was air-conditioned it didn't feel like it. I guess that's why it was the winter palace not the summer palace?

We weren't that comfortable in Schobrunn. It was quite hot inside when outside temperature was around 37 degrees. In Belvedere some rooms were cooler than others though.

Be aware that the temperatures can get up to 40°C (104F) on Thursday and inside the city center

it will be the hottest.

Enjoy the other parts of Vienna like parks, Viennese Woods, lakes, rivers and the mountains .
