I know this is gonna be a very repititive subject / question but im still gonna risk it! :)
We're a group of 3 friends (all adults) visiting salzburg from 13th - 16th June (staying at star inn gablerbrau). Wanted ideas/thoughts/suggestion regarding a full day lake district tour that we are keen to do
We are doing the "sound of music" bicycle tour which i believe covers all the SOM city locations. We wanted to do the city & the tour nice and slow & hence chose the bicycle tour for the city & a seperate lake district full day tour.
On the lake district day trip we'd like to cover the SOM lake district locations (lake fuschl, lake wolfgang & lake mondsee). At lake wolfgang we were contemplating to take the scaffberg train. & then head onto Bad Ischl (peek into kaiservilla) & then Hallstat and returning to salzburg late eve.
(not interested in the salt mines)
Does this seem possible for a day trip or is it being over ambitious ? Any ideas/suggestions ?
Ive mailed a few tours for this (though i dont see an itinerary for all of this on their website). Any suggestions how to go about it ? Tour company ? Public transport ? We havent driven in Austria & im a bit apprehensive about that.
Look forward to hearing!
