Do this type of cruise exist? I can only find week long cruises...

such a trip exisits by older hydrofoil Budapest - Vienna.

But it is a long 6 hour plus journey with unfortunately not the greatest scenery to be found on the Danube.

Costly too.

Thanks-I think I'll skip it then and take the train instead. Hopefully, that has nicer scenery!

As your target is Vienna, I would not overly care on the scenery. As you must leave Budapest relatively early I would use the time aboard for an extended sleep and/or preparation of your visit. The scenery along the railroad is not exciting either but it also depends on what somebody expects.

Yes - the scenery is pretty flat - some fields, houses, a few cars, some electricity wind farms, etc - the usual :)
