Vienna Big Taxi

We are 5 peole, all adults. We will need to take Taxi while moving around in Vienna, in outside the City.

Are there big Taxis in Vienna to accommodate 5 peple, van-type or so. If so, do we reqest these by phone or we can just find them in the streets?

Appreciate your help.

Yes, you can find such taxis in the streets or order by phone. By the way, why not taking public transport?

Thank you Mikey,

We will be mainly using the public transport within Vienna, especially underground . We though we may require Taxi when visiting Shopping Malls located out of city center.

Which shopping malls do you want to visit? Most of them can also be reached by public transport. I would also like to add that minivan taxis aren't as readily available as regular taxis. So you either have to wait a little or order one by phone as mentioned above.

We want to vsist both "Donau Zentrum Mall"and "Shopping City Süd (SCS)". I know that the first mall can be easily reach by underground, but I am not sure in CSC is easily reachable by public transport.

SCS can also be reached by public transport, but not as easily as, for instance, the Donauzentrum. There is a tram line, named the Vienna-Baden line (Badner Bahn), which serves the SCS on its way from Vienna to Baden, a town close to Vienna. Be aware that, as you leave Vienna, you need a ticket covering 2 zones (Vienna zone + 1 outer zone). If you have a transport pass for Vienna, you only need a supplemental ticket for 1 zone.(for the outer zone).

The easiest way to reach SCS by public transport, is to take the U1 to Reumannplatz or the U6 to Siebenhirten. There is a free SCS shuttle bus from both of these stations which runs every 30 mins. All travel is either in the core zone/free shuttle so no need to pay for an extra zone.
