Even though taking the train is the most conveniet way to go to Nice, but only if you are staying near the station. In this case, you would have to walk for about 15 - 20 minutes (a bit hilly at the beginning) or take bus n° 1 or 6 (get off at GARE), walk to the station, wait for the train (one-way train ticket: 3,70 €). then once in Nice, take the tram (5 minutes - get off at Massena stop) and walk (10 - 15 minutes).

I think it's easier going by bus. Here are your buses choices:

1) Bus n° 110 (20€) + bus n° 52 (1€ - From May 3rd: 1,50€) or bus n° 98 (4€).

This is probably the simplest way, but more expensive than choice n° 2. Take the bus n° 110 (direction Nice Airport) at bus stop "Les Spélugues", which is just across your hotel. One-way fare: 20€ (round trip: 32€). Note: last bus departs at 7h40 PM.

Get off at terminal 1 and outside it, go to the ticket booth and buy a ticket to bus n° 98 (1-day pass: 4 €). Take bus n° 98 (Direction: Riquier - 1-day pass: 4€) and get off at bus stop "Congres / Promenade". Palais de la Mediterranee is just across it.

If you decide taking bus n° 52 instead, get off at terminal 1, go towards the busy avenue outside the airport and search for bus stop called "Aeroport / Promenade" (see photo: http://i37.tinypic.com/2zivnkw.jpg). Note: last bus around 9h12 PM. Take bus n° 52 (1€) and get off at bus stop "Congres / Promenade".

2) Bus n° 100 (1€ - From May 3rd: 1,50€) + bus n° 7 / n° 3 (1€ - From May 3rd: 1,50€).

You either walk to Avenue de la Costa or take bus n° 1 or n° 6 (get off at Monte Carlo stop - one-way fare: 2€) and take bus n° 100 to Nice (the bus stop is in front of bank Credit du Nord). The trip usually takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour, but it will all depend on the traffic or if the bus is full (less stops along the way). Get off at the terminus (Le Port stop) and walk to bus stop "Le Port Arson" on Rue Arson, which is just around the corner (see photo: http://i36.tinypic.com/8xou9y.jpg ). From there you can take bus n° 7 or n° 3 then get off at stop "Grimaldi" stop. Walking directions to Palais de la Mediterranee: http://goo.gl/maps/d7MZa

The hotel entrance is the very first one, but if you are going to the Casino or the meeting/seminars rooms, it's the second one.
