shopping area in Monte carlo?

Is there a main shopping area in Monte Carlo? I know where Chanel is and there are a few high end shops surrounding that area, but is there additional areas to shop in Monte Carlo? I think I heard there is a mall-type area near the center of things, but never found it on previous trips.

There is a "mall" around Casino where the shops are quite expensive. There is also a shopping mall up by the car and model ship museum. Then there are shops along Port Hercule and ... well basically, Monaco isn't that big and there are shops all over the place.

The mall near the casino is called the Metropole Gallery. It's underneath the Metropole Hotel - if you find the entrance to the hotel, go a couple of paces uphill and to your right you'll see steps and escalators leading down - this is the entrance to the mall (http://maboum.com/metropole-centre).

You'll also see signs around Monte Carlo to the Moulins shopping centre, which is actually the street, Boulevard des Moulins.

The shopping mall near the car museum is more for weekly shopping than for designer gear. It has a Carrefour supermarket, Decathlon sports shop, Fly furniture and a couple of the cheaper French clothes brands (http://maboum.com/fontvieille-shopping-centre).

I've been to Monte Carlo several times but never went into the Le Metropole shopping mall until today. It's a really beautiful shopping mall beneath the city. I would have never expected it to be as big as it is!

There are some high end stores but also casual stores as well. Really beautiful with marble floors and chandelier lights. Even if you don't plan on buying anything, it's worth just taking a stroll through, especially in the hot and humid summer as there is AC throughout the mall.

We just spent a month in Paris and got addicted to delicious macaroons and Fauchon in the mall had delicious macaroons. Also, there is an FNAC store in the basement level which is pretty good sized if you need any electronics, etc. We didn't expect to buy anything but just decided to take a stroll through the mall as we're staying around the corner.

I'm glad we did. It's a beautiful shopping mall. It was quite busy even for a Monday afternoon.

They often have art exhibitions in there too. One year they had costumes from the Monte Carlo Ballet with photographs of dancers.

That's good to know about the art exhibitions. It's quite a beautiful mall. I'll definitely make it a point of going in more often now and grabbing some yummy Macaroons.

Also, I was pleasantly surprised by some of the deals at FNAC. I haven't purchased a DVD in years (you can blame Apple as I just download them to my computer or Ipad). But they had a special 5 DVD's for €30 and there were several fairly new releases. So the kids got some new DVD's to watch.

All of you that live here are are really fortunate. This is such an amazing city!
