finding beauty in the west Fjords

My husband and I cannot decide if it is worthwhile in terms of time, taking the ferry from Stykkisholmur arriving at 12,30pm and only staying 2 nights.

We know it is 100kms to the cliffs at Latrabjarg and they are very high with crumbling edges so we wondered about exploring the south coast nearer Brjanslaekur.

We know we do not have time to get to Isafjordur which appears in most itineries. What natural beauty would be accessible in a Vitara in June?

we like walks, and love hot pots!

Two nights in the Westfjords are definitely worth it!

There are a few very remote outdoor hot pools available in the southern Westfjords - Reykjarfjarðarlaug, Krossholtslaug and Hellulaug. If you don't want to go all the way to Ísafjörður (2.5-3 hours drive from Brjánslækur), you should still drive a little north from Látrabjarg and walk up to Dynjandi waterfall.

There is an abundance of hiking/trekking options in the Westfjords - f.e. in the south: Látrabjarg, the sandy beaches around the cliff and also in Arnarfjörður, and if you are willing to go a little further north than Dynjandi then you can even hike the tallest mountain in the Westfjords (998m) for great panoramic views - not too difficult if you are comfortable with steep hiking paths. The sky is the limit though, usually you can just walk off and be on a beautiful hill/mountainside in five minutes without anyone else around...that's the beauty of the Westfjords.
