Very early days in planning a trip, we have the opportunity for once to holiday in November/December and are hoping to visit Iceland for 6/7/8 days.
We like wild-life, beautiful scenery and drives, would love to see the Aurora Borealis, and would hope to maximise the chance, but understand it’s not guaranteed. Not interested in ski-ing, but possibly some walks, depending on weather. We love to explore.
Let me know if this is a good place to start please, all comments welcome:
Day 01 Arrival and first night in Reykjavik
Day 02 Golden Circle tour and visit Þingvellir National Park, Geysir and Gullfoss waterfall – stay near Selfoss
Day 03 Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfall, beach of Vík and a glacier – stay close to Selfoss
Day 04 Reykjanes peninsula, mud pools, light houses, Blue Lagoon - stay close to Selfoss
Day 05 back to Reykjavík, enjoy the capital of Iceland – stay centre of Reykjavík
Day 06 day in Reykjavík or super jeep tour
Day 07 departure
We may have a couple of days extra, are there any must sees I have missed?
