Want to watch Football match or even training? Help please!

Hi,

My girlfriend and I are coming to Reykjavik on Sunday 26th and are leaving on Thursday 30th and I really would like to watch a football match or two. I have found finding the fixtures for the league a bit confusing but I think these are the fixtures that best suit me. Please can someone confirm that these matches are correct:

Sunday May 26th Valur Reykjavik - Keflavik

Monday May 27th Fram Reykjavik - Stjarnan -

Monday May 28th KR Reykjavik - Breidablik

If so, please can I ask a few questions:

1. So there are three teams in Reykjavik?

2. Which are the closest for us? (We are staying at 'The House of Spirits')

3. How can I find what times these matches start?

4. Who can I contact to ask any of these teams if I can watch them train?

Takk in advance,

B

Hi again! Well I emailed KR and Volur twice to ask about watching them train and neither replied. Never mind.

Tonight I chose to go and watch a fantastic show called 'How to be an Icelander in 60 minutes' instead of watching Volur play.

My questions are:

1. Does anyone know how Volur did?

2. If KR are in the top division, what division are Volur and Fram?

3. I'm going to watch Fram play at home tomorrow, any tips on what bus to get? Kick off at 19.50 I think?

Takk Fyrir to all of you!

Valur-Keflavik went 4-0

They are all in the top division.

The bus station at Kringlan (marked as such on the maps in the link above) is the one to use, the Fram field is opposite the Kringlan shopping mall.

This is the state of the top league in Iceland at the moment:

1. FH 5 4 1 0 9:2 13

2. KR 4 4 0 0 9:1 12

3. Valur 5 3 2 0 11:4 11

4. ÍBV 5 2 2 1 6:4 8

5. Stjarnan 4 2 1 1 6:5 7

6. Breiðablik 4 2 0 2 9:7 6

7. Þór 5 2 0 3 6:11 6

8. Fram 4 1 2 1 4:5 5

9. Keflavík 5 1 1 3 6:11 4

10. ÍA 5 1 0 4 4:10 3

11. Fylkir 5 0 2 3 5:10 2

12. Víkingur Ó. 5 0 1 4 4:9 1

Wow! What a great reply, thank you. Fram kick off is 19.15 tonight? I guess get there for 19.00?

Kick off is confirmed as 19.15. However, ideally I'd like to watch a lower league team play as that is perhaps closer to my own standard. :)

So my question is are there any lower league Reykjavik teams playing at home tonight or tomorrow? Takk.
