an icelanic trip with very little sence of travel time

day 1 [sunday may 19,2013]

arrive at 7am and pick up rental car.

planning golden circle day trip. waterfalls, geysir, hot springs.

staying just outside of Vik.

day 2 may 20

driving to skaftafell national park.

hoping to check out the glacial lagoon and glacier.

staying just outside hofn.

day 3. may 21

this is where i am not sure what to do and would like insight.

we may stay a second day around skaftafell. not to sure what to see or where to go.

looking for some insight.

maybe a good tour.

day 4 may 22

driving back towards Reykjavik

planning on staying south of Reykjavik for the evening

day 5 .may 23

I need to know if this is possible.

Day trip to snaefellnes peninsula ??

i have to be back in Reykjavik for 6:30 to drop off rental car.

hoping to have drinks and chat up some locals.

day 6 may 24

enjoy the city of Reykjavik

take in the sights and what not. more drinks i suppose.

day 7

pack up. hopefully find a bus that goes to the blue lagoon and the airport leave for canada around 3 pm.

i really need to know if my plan is feasible to do. i do not mind waking up early.

i have very little scene of distance and time. all the travel books and brouchers leave this to your imagination. the reality is another story.

thanks for all input, and help.

Looks like a good plan, my only comment is that it's a lot of driving on day 1 if you have come off a transatlantic flight and had little sleep.

Maybe a day in Reykjavik and then set out on your trip.

We did it in March so it is possible. Maybe a bit more rushed in summer if you want to do lots of stops. We didn't stop a lot as the weather was very cold.
