northern light tour

We're Looking at an Icelandair northern lights package leaving from Washington, D.C. in either Dec. or March. Anyone know if there's a need for and if so if there's a way to rent cold weather clothing (parkas, boots, etc). We live in Va and do not have that type of outerwear. Also, is there snowmobiling, dogsledding, glacier viewing etc.?

Yes you will need wind/waterproof clothing. It can be bitterly cold, very windy and wet. Standing for hours, hopefully, watching the NL's is likely to be very cold. Go prepared and then you will enjoy. Bad clothing makes for a miserable time, good clothing and you will have a fabulous time.

Much has been written on this forum about clothing, have a search.

Hi mare, between December and March there is a lot of difference, in December you will find much more cold and snow than in March when the temperatures get a little warmer, one thing you will always and at all times of the year: the wind
