Just how expensive IS Iceland?

Can some of you give examples? If you go to the store, how much is a box of cereal (in dollars)? Is everything expensive across the board? Thanks!

Here's a brief rundown of everyday items:

All prices are approx.

Box of cereal (US import): 380-400ISK / $8

Bottle of soda: 100ISK / $2

Beer in a Restaurant: 350ISK+ / $7+

Glass of Wine: 400ISK / $8

Bottle of Wine: 1200ISK / $22 to 2700ISK / $55

Pizza in a Restaurant (for one): 900ISK / $18 to 1800ISK / $38

Subway: 400ISK / $8

Almost everything has to be imported, or caught/produced by expensive humans. I found it more expensive than London which is an expensive city.

However, the scenery (the main attraction) is free and plentiful.
