Location of Library 10

Hello,

Could someone please verify if "Library 10 at Elielinaukio 2 G" is on the same street as the Holiday Inn Helsinki City Centre?

Has anyone used the "Group Work Room" in this library or know how the tables and chairs are set up? I have a group of students arriving in July and they will be using this room.

Thank you.

Jep, just across the street. I suggest you ask directly from them the set up of the room and whether it's a room with flexible configuration.

The library is in the huge yellow brick building that used to be the main post office. Now the post just moved to an even smaller space but the building remains and seeks new tenants. You can see the entrance in the pic on this page. It's on the side of the building that faces the bus station and very close to your hotel.

Take the elevators or escalators to the 2nd floor, they are right at the door. The library is just left if you come from the elevator, U turn if you take the escalator.

The 10 in the name comes from the post code of the area that is 00100, the "zero" one of all codes in Finland.

One way of putting it. Helsinki is divided into postal code districts a bit like Paris. The Central area is Helsinki 10 (postal code used to be 00100 Helsinki 10, but the succeeding district numbers have now been dropped off). Central Helsinki is often called Helsinki 10, thus Library 10. Rule of thumb, the greater the postal code, the further it is from the center.

Thank you MrsHelsinki and polarbearfin for the details of the Library. I will give this information to the group so they will know where to go when they get to Helsinki.

Many thanks! :)
