Pyhä is very different from Levi, a much smaller and more peaceful resort. If you're after something busier, have a look e.g. on Ruka ( http://www.ruka.fi/winter_eng/ ). At least Crystal and Thomson Ski arrange trips there from the UK. Or Saariselkä as a combination of village feel and wilderness?

HI

We first went to pyha in 2006 with Crystal ski. We fell in love with it and bought an apartment there!! It is the perfect ski resort. Beautifully maintained downhill slopes, excellent snowboard park and of course miles and miles of cross country tracks. The ski school is second to none. I have skied in Austria 3 times and the ski instruction in Finland is way better. The apartments are fantastically modern and the log cabins are magical. The hotel is so well furnished. Snow guaranteed. As you can tell I'm a big fan. I have a husband who loves cross country, two snowboarding sons and a downhill ski son. They were 6, 11 and 12 when we started going and are 13, 19 and 20. They still love it. We go directly with Finn air via Helsinki. The ski bus meets the plane at Roveniemi and takes you to Pyha. No worries if any delays(which we haven't had ) as the bus waits!! You can book accommodation on line with Pyha.fi.

Hope this helps

Thank you for that information. We are staying at the pyha ski inn suites and have already booked. For future reference do you rent out your apartment? Do they offer private ski lessons in pyha? Have you ever seen the northern lights from pyha we went to Levi the week before christmas and didn't get to see them hopefully we will be lucky this year!!

I can also recommend pyha having returned last weekend.

It's a very small, peaceful resort. Fabulous skiing and a a couple of great restaurants! We travelled with inghams and can't fault them.

We stayed in one of the three star log cabins near to the family slope.

A perfect holiday. Desperate to return!

Hi

You can book private ski lessons at the ski school located near the Carlsberg bar on the same level as the hotel. The instructors are superb and speak brilliant English.

We allow our apartment to go out via the ski -inn booking systema and it is fully managed for us -you may even stay in it but they are not personal inside!

Have a great trip -don't hesitate to ask more questions.
