Hi,

If you want to go mobile you should probably buy a prepaid card from Tele2. With this you pay SEK 0,95 to US fixed or SEK 1,00 US mobile per minute. This card works with GSM or 3G cell phones and you should be able to buy it all over Stockholm.

Make sure you get the Tele2 Kontantkort (pre-paid) called "Amigos", this is the one with low rates to other countries.

Swedish web page: tele2.se/comviq-kontant-vardebevis-amigos.ht…

If you want to use fixed phones your best option is probably buying a calling card in the US and bring or you can buy it on the internet while on your trip (Google to find the best deal). Make sure the calling card has a local/Swedish toll-free number or local Stockholm access number otherwhise it might get expensive. Toll free numbers in Sweden start with 020. The local area code in Stockholm is 08.

Otherwhise there is always other options such us using Skype from an Internet cafe...

Hope this helps and welcome to Stockholm!

Max
