Hotel/Inn/B&B in Stockholm

We will be traveling to Stockholm in September with a 1-year old and are looking for a nice hotel in a good area for walking to restaurants, sights, etc. We dont require a kitchen but it would be a plus if we could do laundry. A bed and breakfast or inn would be wonderful as we like to meet people when we travel and will gladly sacrifice some comforts (i.e. room service) for a bit of local culture. We are pretty flexible on price. We will be staying 2-3 nights. Also, any tips for sights to see in or around Stockholm (we also have a car) would be appreciated.

(Were going to be in Copenhagen and Oslo as well if anyone has tips for those cities or must-see sights or towns in Norway or Denmark, Ill post on those boards also)

Stockholm is a huge city. The city itself is filled with expensive hotels. In the suburbs there are many cheaper hotels and other accomadations. Most of them can be found on the internet if you just look around. Look for youth hostels too - there are several right in the middle of the city that dont cost all too much. Stockholm is very very kid orientated - you can go almost anywhere and everywhere you want with a stroller or carriage. For example, all travel by local bus will be free of charge if you have a carriage or stroller. Suggestion - before you come - read about Pippi Longstocking to your one year old and then when you are here - go to Junibacken - the home of Pippi. Kids love it. Once here - buy a Scandinavian toy as a memory - a Brio train (wooden) or BAMSE - the worlds strongest bear ! The internet is filled with stuff for kids once you get through the portals on each website about Sweden.

Hope that you have a nice trip !
