Reasonably priced traditional restaurants

Hi.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to some reasonably priced traditional Danish restaurants?

By reasonable - somewhere in the region of 100kr for a main course. My wife and I are staying in Copenhagen for a week at the end of the month and we need to spread the cost as much as possible.

Kind regards,

Jamie.

Two problems: Not many restaurants serve traditional Danish food in the evening and your budget is very low, and most of those that do are not very good.

A reasonable priced main course in Copenhagen is much closer to DDK 150 than DDK 100.

In short you'll get a lot more food for your money if you check out ethnic restaurants in Vesterbro or Nørrebro than looking for traditional Danish food.

Also visiting Torvehallerne - food halls at Israels Plads - you'll find some decent food at ok prices - but its not like eating in a restaurant.

But back to your question - the closest to your budget I can find is Klubben (The Club) in Vesterbro - a very traditional place with a beer garden in summer. I can't vouch for the quality but take a look at the menu here:

Agree with post above.

But slightly above budget, I would recommend:

A number of restaurants would also have todays special, often with prices around DKK100 or just above. A favorite among danes would be "Stegt Flæsk", thick bacon slices, traditionally served with potatoes and white parsley sauce/gravy. Usually served as "all you can eat".

I recommend Restaurant Puk (I've been there a couple of times this year; not overpriced - dinner main courses from 138 to 178 DKK - and very good Danish food). Good location (some 7-10 minute-walk from Tivoli).

website: http://www.restaurantpuk.dk/ (you can check the menu at "menuer", then "aften kort" for dinner menu, bilingual, with prices).

Reviews for it here at TA: tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g189541-…

I agree that is not very likely that you find a main course in a "traditional" restaurant for 100 DKK. I would choose to have at least one good meal in a nice place and save money/eat snacks on the other days...
