Airport Bus to Centre

We were going to take the train from the airport to the Central Train Station in Copenhagen as we are staying at the Square Hotel. However, someone has just put a new review on Tripadvisor for The Square Hotel saying that a bus from the airport takes you right to the hotel.

Does anybody know:

1. If this is true and is the Airport Bus Stop anywhere near the Arrivals at Terminal 3?

2. How much it would cost approximately and how long the journey takes?

3. How often the bus leaves the airport?

Thanks very much,

Dave

Hi Dave,

Yes you can ride a bus from the airport into central Copehagen.

It's bus 5A - you find it outside terminal 3 where you arrvive, signs will guide you.

It's the same price as the train or metro and it takes about 35-40 minutes depending on time of day.

In the daytime it leaves every 8-12 minutes in he evening the longest wait will be 20 minutes.

You have to get off at Rådhuspladsen. A display in the bus will show the name of the next stop.

Your hotel will be behind you across the wide road, when you get off.

Thanks very much for the useful information.

Do you know how much a single or return ticket is please?

Will the driver accept a 50 kroner note or is that too large?

Thanks.

A single ride is 30dkr, but if you are more than one person travelling and have to get back the same way and/or want to use the metro or other busses during your stay, you should get a clip card.

If you look up clip cards in this forum they have been explained many times. The airport is 3 zones from the city center.

You can get that, at the airport - by the metro and train terminal.

Usually busses do not accept notes.

Andreadori,

Thanks for the 2nd reply. On our return journey to the airport do you know if we would wait for the bus at the same place near the hotel?

Also, I know you say that buses don't usually take notes, but if it is 30 dkr and there are 2 of us do you think they would accept three 20 dkr notes as we have these?

Thanks very much!

When you go back to the airport, 5A leaves from the same area as the one you arrive at, but from at different bay.

And not all 5A's go all the way to the airport, so make sure it says Lufthavnen on the front of the bus.

And no the bus driver will not accept 20 dkr notes - they were discontinued in 1990.

You will have to go to a bank to see if they will change them to coins.

Thanks very much for the info. I forgot that the 20 kr notes were Swedish (we changed some money to go to Malmo too!).
