Hello!

You will either walk or swim.

There is a very big loaf of bread in the local bakery. They bake it every Sunday and they take out on the streets, where people cut pieces and eat it with Edam cheese.

You can sleep in the stables of the mayor, or set up a tent inside the old footy ground.

What, you'll eat too? Next thing you know, you'll be asking for an iced coffee!!!

When are you going?

Καλημερα θαλεια!

Thanks for you help - was beginning to think my pioneering TRAVEL plans were going to go out the window! It is always nice to have something new (er I mean somewhere) on here. So lots of ideas wanted please - BTW are there shoe shops in Komotini?

I like the sound of the large loaf - imagine the mega butty with that one! Full of lovely GREEK specialities.

philhellene - congrats on the OLIVE grove! if you need any OLIVE pickers I can TRAVEL to GREECE quite easily if not too PRESSED for time.

Hee hee hee.. . and just when I figured out another Dr Who thing we could do with the brother and sisters posting to communicate . This is better, Komoniti has a wonderful reputation for hospitality. The peoople are very knowlegable about their island ,many great places to eat and occassionaly the whole community celebrates with a big party.I would heartily recommend a visit

There is a huge bazaar up there with clothes, shoes, accessories..... everything!

A couple of years ago, I was looking for a grass-green pashmina. I looked all over Athens and London, but found nothing. A friend of mine went to Komotini and bought me one, just the way I wanted it! When I tried to give her the money she told me that she paid 2 euros!!!

And the food is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!

Am I understanding that there are TWO Komotinis? Swim? I thought it was up near Bulgaria - where it gets a whole page in my Blue Guide! Oh dear I might have arranged my HOLIDAY in the wrong part of GREECE!

Anyway - enough of TRAVEL - get on with the serious stuff . . . .
