Athens to Skopelos via Ag. Constantinos

Hi, we've finally booked our tickets to Athens and will be arriving on the 19th August 13:10. I believe there's a bus that will take us directly from Athens to Ag. Constantinos and we want to go to Skopelos that evening. But I can't find the timetable anywhere. I remember seeing it somewhere that the bus and ferry timetables are synchronised but can't find the link. Can you please help me? Many thanks.

Hey love_jo_jo:-) Check www.alkyontravel.gr/ They operate a convenient bus/ferry combo from their offices at Kaningos Square (just off Omonia) in Athens..with a hook up timed for the ferry;) If there is an afternoon departure that day, the buses usually leave around 4p..thereabouts..you should make it..and EnjoY!

Hello love_jo_jo -

according to the schedule there is a Flying Cat leaving Agios Konstantinos at 19:45 on Sunday 19 August. Litsa is correct - you can taxi airport to Kanigos Sq in central Athens to make the 16:00 bus via Alkyon (the bus might be a little later-check their site).

It is a 2.5 hour ride in comfort with a rest stop.

Arrival in Glossa is 22:05, arrival in Skopelos is 22:45

The link to the ferries timetable is http://www.hsw.com (I just checked and their site is down).

You can also take the metro from The airport to central Athens (about 30-40 mins) and then take a taxi to Kaningos... The metro is very modern and good. Be careful for pickpockets at kaningos.

At Skopelos, Nikki's Apartments on Panormos are really great, almost every balcony has sea views, they look great, spacious and clean. They also have a beautiful garden and it's one minute away from the beach.. Also check out Agnondas (nicest in evening) they have great fish taverna's in most beautiful romantic setting. On Panormos you can also find Linarakia, which serves homegrown food and probably the best restaurant on the island, very romantic too at night, with tables on the beach and during the day you can have your lunch there and afterwards relax on their sun beds and swim...

We had a long discussion at …wordpress.com/2012/07/07/platea-kaningos/

about the thievery problems in Kanigos Square. It is known that when the special Alkyon bus loads and unloads luggage on arrival and departure, pickpockets are present and working. Caution is urged. Don't leave small bags unattended and don't carry valuable in outside pockets of clothing or backpacks. The pickpocket phenomenon last only while people are crowding trying to get their luggage onto or from the luggage compartment under the bus.

If you are careful you should be OK.
