accommodation for older people

Hi,

Hope to go to Santorini next September. Problem is those steps. We are both 72 years old and desperate to go to Santorini. Has anyone ever stayed in a hotel with some sort of sunset view and a minimum number of steps? We would like to stay there a week. I know I am asking the alost impossible but I have to try. Thanks for any replies.BJK

In Fira, The Atlantis Hotel has about 10 steps from the outside to the Reception level. The taxis can come almost to the door.

The Panorama Hotel has an elevator to all levels, but the swimming pool is at their sister property at the bottom of many steps (if that is important for you to have).

I'm sure BLL can chip in with some Oia options.

If you can give us your daily maximum budget in Euros, that would also assist.

Villa ilias in Firostefani, the superior room on the first terass. The taxi/car can take you next to your room which has only 2 small steps up. A great litte family hotel with a traditional touch and marvellous owners! http://www.villailias.gr/

Thank you for your kindness in giving me information. We can pay up to 350 euros perday if we find something that suits us. bjk447

Old Oia Houses in Oia has a house in the center of the village near the Clock Tower with no steps except inside to the bathroom. It has a lovely balcony as well as a rooftop terrace. It's known as the Venetian House but on their website I think it's House #4. You'd have to ask them to be sure.
