Came home on Sunday from our second visit to Elounda, and thought I would just give a little info for people going soon.
Yes, weather is hot and sunny, but lovely cool breeze/even very windy at times which seems to die down about 6pm.
Exchange rate advertised in village on Saturday was 1.14 euro to £.
Prices still similar to when we went in Oct 2011. Evening meal for three of us, including drinks, starter and main ranged from 28euro to 46euro depending on what we ordered. No problem to eat on a budget or splash out.
Example prices 1 euro for crusty loaf from bakery, price for tomatoes etc cheaper than sainsburys at home, wine 2,85euro for bottle from supermarket, so easy and cheap if self catering. Be aware that anything not grown or produced in Greece is generally imported, so more expensive than at home.
Bus to Ag Nik was 10,20euro for three people return fare from Elounda square.
Village was quieter than we expected for July.
Will post reviews and photos when I get a few minutes.
FAB place, friendly people - we will be back.
