Check out tripadvisor.co.uk/…REVIEWS . No bar but a very short walk to the nearest one, very close to the harbour / square.

Less then 4 weeks until our holiday to lovely elounda ! Any advice please on short walks to nearby villages ( not too far ). Or buses that go into villages in the mountains . Thankyou , Baz .

Fortunately the Maria Stella Apts are right in the centre of the village close to all amenities but having said that they are in nice quiet corner.

Buses stop in the square to take you to Aghious Nikolaos or Plaka and they run reasonably frequently at this time of the year.

The Original Happy Train (burgundy and cream) runs at 1.00 each day to Plaka and then into the mountains.

There is a good book available ''10 Interesting Walks in Elounda for Holidaymakers'' which should help you get around the area.

Enjoy your holiday

Happy train to Plaka if memory serves is 11 euro p.person. My wife and i took the train into the hills at 17euros p.person with no drinks or food included, we thought it was poor value for the money. Others may differ but its only our opinion.
