Beach to drive to after Gingalos on way or in Chania

Just thinking we may wish to have a dip in the sea after our walk up Mount Gingalos. Can anyone recommend a beach on the way back, so near Chania town as this is where we are based then, A beach with parking would be idea and a taverna for a well earned drink!

Thanks

Rach

Chryssi Akti is the nearest good beach on the way to Chania when coming from Omalos.

Returning from Gingilos a good choice can be Agioi Apostoloi and Iguana Beach, more protected beaches from the wind. Entering Hania from Omalos road to your left .

Iguana beach is best sheltered, with good facilities and beach bar, easy parking. To find follow signs from Main Road toward Camping Hania. Heading toward sea pass football ground on your right, at bottom road turn left keeping park to your left keep on until you pass volleyball courts on your right and park about there.

Iguana Beach well signed.
