Chania - Honeymoon 2nd Wk October? Weather & Hotels??

Hi

I've never been to Chania before and always fancied it. Was initally thinking of Rhodes or Kefalonia for Honeymoon but then thought Rhodes Town maybe too touristy and Kefalonia just not warm enough in October.

Any one ideas of what weather would be like week commencing 6 October?? And if good any recommendations for where to stay? Budget is around £1500 for week.

Also who would I go via as struggling to even find Chania in a lot of the bog standard brochures and travel website!?

Any advice would greatly appreciated!!?

Hi there

Firstly, if you Google "holidays in Chania", you will get loads of websites where you can book for the town. Early October usually sees the weather still fine but not the blazing heat of June and July. Expect daytime temps of mid 20's and cool evenings, could be warmer though if you're lucky.

Chania offers some very nice traditional hotels, where romantic suites are offered.

The first weeks of October can be very nice and sunny, although evenings are cooler.

Chania is definetly a place to celebrate a honeymoon.

If you want an adorable, small & simple yet very comfortable hotel just outside Chania, with a pool right on the beach, your answer is Ammos Hotel, that gets absolute Raves from TA travellers. You can take a local bus right outside into Chania or drive a car (Chania has tons of free parking at the seafront by Old Town). The best of both worlds! Beach AND gorgeous Old Town. The only challenge re Ammos is getting a booking since it has only 30 rooms.

PS: I advised a young couple to go there this past fall and they loved it.

Have been in Mid-September,days can be a bit overcast and the evenings a little cool,so i'd imagine October may be something similar !
