Thought you were going by plane...

Book direct with the respective Greek ferry company, same price as a ticket purchased in the ports/islands concerned. Either way you need paper tickets. Booking is only necessary for peak periods.

The companies are listed here and timetables:

Also check the Aegean airways site and the Olympic Airways site if you book early their tickets are cheaper or just a bit more expensive than ferry tickets and will save you a LOT of time.

I was gonna fly but do like the idea of a long ferry ride with bluestar. It's part of the holiday isnt it ? Or has anyone found it too boring?

I will need to book for 29th June, however from reading the above could i just turn up and buy tickets on the day or in the city centre the day before?

If I get tickets in advance do I just turn up half an hour before it leaves. Is it straightforward to get to on public transport from the city for a departure time of 7.25am

Thanks

Jon

it's a long journey,it will take up to 8 hours to get there by regular ferry, you can buy your tickets at the airport www.gtp.gr/TDirectoryDetails.asp?ID=23324

You have to board the ferry even 5 minutes prior to departure,go early to get a good seat.Metro green line from Monastiraki takes 20 minutes to the terminal at Piraeus.
