Athens public transport

Hi - just wondering if there is a travel pass for metro and bus which will suit our itinerary in November.. arriving Athens airport in the afternoon of day 1 so need transport into the city. Then sightseeing in Athens on days 2,3 and 4. Returning to airport day 5 morning.

Grateful for any advice! Thanks.

the weekly ticket is not available,it was too expensive, the 3 day tourist ticket is not going to cover you, just pay as you go.

Regardless of your inquiry you will find transportation and admission very inexpensive compared to other major world-class cities. Athens (and all of Greece) is one of the best deals for travel anywhere. The tourism industry has lowered prices to attract tourists and you can get outstanding deals anywhere in Greece. You can get a very good full course meal in Athens compared to a city such as Rome and still have money left over for extras. I think you will find Athens and all of Greece a excellent deal. We are heading for Athens & Naxos on Sept. 26. This will be our third trip to Greece in the last four years with one year of travel to Italy. While we enjoyed Italy we found Greece to be much less expensive, more Old World, less tourists and relaxing. No over crowding, elbowing, pushing or shoving . . . just a lot of kind, polite, and helpful Greeks (even tourists) who are not stressed out by the over-crowding of other European areas!

Most of the tourist sites are within easy walking distance to each other. I can count on one hand the number of times that we've used the metro other than coming/going to the airport or Piraeus.
